2023 13U/14U Northwest Prospect Showcase (08/26/2023 - 08/27/2023)

5-Maroon vs. 6-White Game Highlights
8/28/2023 1:17:44 AM

Tyler Huck (2027, Richland, WA) got the start for Team Maroon and went two shutout innings. Huck worked fast and used an effective fastball/curveball combination that paired well. They tunnel well out of his over the top slot and he was effective in keeping hitters off balance.

Joell Gasca (2027, Renton, WA) relieved Huck and went three shutout innings of his own. Gasca showed an uptempo delivery and attacked hitters. He worked his fastball in the low 70s and mixed in a quality breaking ball and changeup that he landed for strikes.

Keagan Soliza (2027, Puyallup, WA) threw two shutout innings where he showed advanced stuff for a ’27 grad. He has a clean delivery with an easy quick arm that ran his fastball up to 79. Also mixed in a sharp low 70s breaker at 2300+ RPMs and a depthy changeup he killed spin down to 1289 RPM on. Soliza also added also opposite field double at the plate.

Ian Westendorf (2028, Newcastle, WA) had two loud triples this game. His first was on a low fastball he dropped barrel on a drove over the left fielders head. The other was on a high fastball he drove over the right fielders head. Westendorf has advanced power for a ’28 grad.

Griffin Gregory (2028, Seattle, WA) had a line drive RBI single single to get things started for Team Maroon in the first. Gregory keeps his hands quiet and work them on a direct path to the baseball.

Seika Saito (2027, Issaquah, WA) had one of the better barrels this game where he turned on a fastball for a solid line drive knock to right. Saito has a balanced and smooth LH swing where he delivers the bat on a flat path through the zone.
