Tavis Spiller (2024 2B, Mechanicsville, VA) is a primary middle infielder on defense but impressed on the mound with his raw stuff. He was up to 86 mph with his fastball and also showed nice feel for a change up. Spiller also had a good day at the plate, picking up a couple of singles.
Gordon Cozad (2026 SS, Vienna, VA) and Alex Gonzalez (2025 2B, McLean, VA) both stood out in the infield defensively, making several nice plays each and showing advanced overall actions. Both graded out very well in the defensive drills earlier in the day, so it was a carryover that left a strong impression.
James Robinson (2025 C, Vienna, VA) also had a nice day defensively, as the Royal team shined in that area. He made several nice blocks that saved his pitchers bases and also contributed with a sharp opposite field single.
