Puk grew up in a prominent Iowa football family but gave up his quarterback aspirations to devote himself full-time to baseball, a decision that has paid off. The long and loose southpaw has an easy and well-coordinated delivery and is one of the most projectable prospects in the country. Puk pitches in the upper-80s and will touch the low-90s with a good curveball/changeup combination. He is also a prospect as a left-handed hitting first baseman with a disciplined approach and smooth swing.
