2021 Southern California Prospect Showcase
Ryan Antonio is a 2022 RHP/C/3B with a 5-11 240 lb. frame from Shelton, WA who attends Shelton. Big and burly build, pretty mature physically. Rears back in delivery with a high front side, high curling arm action and an over the top release slot, tall and fall mechanics down the mound, repeated his mechanics well. Fastball topped out at 75 mph, mostly straight and thrown for consistent strikes. Showed good feel for throwing his big breaking slow downer curveball for strikes as well. 8.08 runner, played both third base and catcher during the games. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with an early front side rotation, pull approach with a bit of jump when he gets his pitch.

Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
