Matthew Guida is a 2023 C/1B with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Garden City, NY who attends Garden City. Guida works from a broader strong build with evident strength in the lower half. Exclusively from his primary spot behind the dish, he used a square setup with repeatability to the mechanics that produced consistent accurate throws on the bag. As the arm action continues to be cut down and the footwork becomes more fluid, expect the 2.30 pop time to further decrease. At the plate, the righty started from a wider slightly open stance with some initial wrap to the barrel generating solid impact gap to gap. Guida created carry and backspin on the baseball with lift in the bat path, posting an exit velo of 79 mph. Ran a 8.12 sixty yard dash. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
