2023 Mid-Atlantic Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Ronald Berry IV is a 2027 C/IF with a 5-8 175 lb. frame from Wilmington, DE who attends Wilmington Friends. Medium, compact frame with some lower half strength present and plenty of time to fill out. Recorded a 8.59 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary catcher with a developing defensive skill set. Received from a high, side-saddled stance with developing glove work and fairly direct mid-line transfer. Gains ground upward into release and produced arm strength up to 62 mph during drills. Secondary infielder with deliberate pace to his actions and developing glove work. Fields out in-front cleanly and showed the ability to make accurate throws from a lower arm slot. Recorded developing arm strength up to 65 mph across the diamond during drills. Switch-hitter that hits from a wider, open base from both sides of the plate. Incorporates a high hand set, high back elbow and leg lift trigger to get to launch. Pullside approach from the right-side with slightly elongated swing path and some developing power. More contact oriented from the left-side with mostly middle-of-the field contact. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments, refinements defensively and additional strength.
