2021 Atlantic Coast Prospect Showcase
Malik Wood is a 2023 OF/ with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends Charlotte Country Day. He has a good frame with an athletic build and room to add strength. Primary outfielder that approaches the ball confidently and fields the ball off to the side. He has a longer arm action and a slower release before accurately firing to the bases. Speeding up his release and finishing through his throw more will help him to gain arm strength and create more carry on the ball. Right-handed hitter that starts in a wide base and an upright stance with high hands and a high back elbow. He has a direct swing path that he pairs with a line drive approach. He made his best contact when working to the pull side and showed good bat-to-ball skills in live game action. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
