Nicholas LoVacco is a 2025 RHP/3B/MIF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Jackson, NJ who attends Donovan Catholic. Medium, square shouldered frame with a high waist and plenty of room to fill out. Recorded a 5.48 second forty-yard dash time. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch in this look. Incorporates belt high leg lift into balance and drop-and-drive lower mechanics down the slope, while showing good body control and direction. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 70s for the duration of his outing and topped out at 79 mph from a higher three-quarters arm slot. Strike thrower with attack mentality, showed some command to both sides of the plate. Mixed in promising 12-6 shaped curveball with abrupt plane change and vertical depth to it. Flashed replicated changeup that he killed spin effectively on, while throwing both secondary offerings for strikes. Will continue to improve with minor mechanical adjustments and additional velocity. Secondary infielder with a developing defensive skill set. Used deliberate footwork to range laterally from side-to-side, while bending at the waist to field. Recorded arm strength up to 71 mph across the diamond during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a hunched, slightly open stance with lower, tight hand set and low back elbow. Incorporates small forward stride and rotational lower half mechanics into launch. Lofted stroke with some quickness to his hands and developing feel for the barrel. Displayed whole field approach with consistent contact rate and occasional impact to the pullside of the field. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Developing, young prospect with upside on the mound. Excellent Student.
