Mitchell Wade is a 2028 3B/RHP/IF with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from Baton Rouge, LA who attends St. Michael. Medium, compact frame with plenty of time and room to physically mature. Recorded a 8.01 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary third baseman with a developing defensive skill set. Used deliberate footwork to range laterally, a clean funnel out in-front and produced accurate throws up to 71 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with a slightly coiled leg lift and medium stride length out to foot strike. Incorporates slight drop-and-drive lower half movements down the slope, fastball worked in the low-to-mid 70s for the duration of his outing and he topped out at 76 mph from an extended three-quarters arm slot. Developing command of the strike zone, exclusively fastballs in this outing, will continue to improve with mechanical refinements, addition of viable secondary offering and more velocity. Took part in the outfield portion of the workout as well, where he showed anticipatory actions into the fielding process. Displayed segmented fielding process, maintained some momentum into release and recorded arm strength up to 71 mph during drills. Left-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and elongated stride into contact. Middle-of-the field approach with steepness to his swing path and developing feel for the barrel. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Excellent Student.
