John Larkin is a 2024 1B/RHP with a 6-5 190 lb. frame from Frisco, TX who attends Frisco. Long and tall build with lots of physical projection remaining. Left handed hitter, hits from a busy load but a limited shift to his front side, can get stuck on his back side at times, hands driven swing with an inside swing path, flashed some gap power when he got the barrel out on time, the more he gets into his hips and gets to his front side the more his leverage will come into play. 7.29 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, has loose and easy athletic actions, moves well and his hands work well, turns easy on his throws with good footwork, will be an asset at first base defensively. Also took a turn on the mound, has a loose and athletic delivery with an over the top arm slot, gets downhill well, good extension out front. Fastball worked in the upper 70's, also threw a well controlled curveball, had an effective inning on the mound and has some projection as a pitcher moving forward. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
