Grayson Newsome is a 2027 RHP/1B/3B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Emporia, VA who attends Brunswick Academy. Medium frame showing strength in the build. Ran a 8.73 second sixty yard dash. Primary Right-Handed Pitcher, side step to a belt high lift. Clean lower half driving down the mound. Compact arm stroke and released from a higher slot. Fastball easy out of hand up to 74 mph. Curveball proving to have depth in the low-60's. Changeup his most advanced pitch in the mid-60's. Good fade and got swing and miss with it. Upside on the mound present. Secondary First Baseman, sitting back a bit before fielding out front while deep in the stance. Accurate throws while turning two. Throws up to 69 mph. Secondary Third Baseman, similar fielding approach. Gathers out front and then moves into transfer. Makes sure everything is clean with extra steps and time. Throws up to 70 mph. Right-Handed Hitter, balanced to start while squatting in the legs. Short inline stride while creating separation. Slightly lofted path as he looked to drive it into the gaps. Some power in the swing starting to show. Great Student.
