Julian Gonzalez is a 2027 1B/RHP, C, 3B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Vacaville, CA who attends Vanden High. Features a slender build with room to add. Ran an 8.00 60-yard dash. Primary infielder. Presents glove early and fields it out front. Quick feet allow for decent range in both directions. Was accurate with most throws, reaching 78 mph. Also worked out at catcher. Uses a square setup behind the plate. Will stand straight up at times. Still developing fluid footwork throughout the transfer. Recorded a 2.07 pop time. Right-handed hitter. Utilizes even base stance into a simple timing mechanism. Swings on a linear path with some length to it at times. Line drive approach allows for the entire field to be used. More power will come with added strength. Right-handed pitcher. Uses tall and fall mechanics down the mound. Could get into the lower half more. Shows a loose arm action into a low 3/4 slot release. Has some arm speed present. Fastball sat 77-80 mph with slight armside run. Flashed a sharp, low-70’s slider with some sweeping action. Good student.
