Owen Dye is a 2027 OF/RHP/3B with a 5-9 138 lb. frame from Alexander City, AL who attends Benjamin Russell. 7.20 runner in the sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with a medium, lean build. Aggressive on the charge in the outfield, fields the ball squared up with two hands, long arm swing to a three quarters slot. Developing arm strength, accurate throws around the bag. Recorded throws up to 67 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher, works from a full windup delivery, side steps to a belt high lift, arm gets late at times in the arm swing, causing him to lose the zone. Fastball comes out of the hand well, running it up to 69 mph (1759 RPM). Rounded out the three pitch mix with a curveball in the upper-50s (1492 RPM) and a changeup in the low-60s (1450 RPM). Also worked out in the infield, young actions working to the spot, glove gets down a little late, solid feel for the leather, longer arm swing to a higher release. Same accuracy that was shown in the outfield workout. Recorded throws up to 65 mph. Right-handed hitter, narrow feet in the stance with a closed front side, downhill path through the zone, looks to impact the ball tot he middle of the field. Has some separation in the hands, young bat speed. Will continue to get better as he adds strength.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
