Robert Ruiz is a 2022 RHP/1B with a 6-4 245 lb. frame from Stamford, CT who attends Stamford. Recorded a 8.31-second sixty-yard dash time. Square shouldered, large, physical frame with room to add strength throughout. Primary right-handed pitcher, operated with a full windup at a deliberate pace. Comes from a higher 3/4 arm slot, creating some downhill plane on his fastball with some whip to his arm action. Fastball was up to 79 mph, holding in the mid 70's throughout his outing. Showed slurve shaped breaking ball that had both vertical and horizontal tilt, was able to land it for strikes. Spotty with command at times yet projects on the mound. Secondary first baseman, fields with a wider base with an exaggerated squat base. Could improve foot work around the bag. Flashed some present arm strength on throws to bases, up to 77 mph. Right-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and slightly open stance and high-hand set. Downhill swing plane with some feel for the barrel. Tends to drift to contact. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
