Jake Musicant is a 2027 OF/LHP with a 5-7 125 lb. frame from La Mesa, CA who attends Francis Parker. Has a smaller/lean frame with plenty of room and time to add size/strength. Ran a 7.78 60-yd dash. In the OF, he showed a smooth/easy approach to the baseball moving through it clean with some slight regather into crowhop. Has a medium arm path in the back that worked with easy effort to release. Throws were of avg. strength up to 72 mph, were of the higher arcing variety, and were accurate 1-hops to the bag. At the plate, he sits in a relaxed balanced stance. Hands are quiet and loose and throw the barrel on a clean path through the zone with avg. bat speed. Showed present barrel control working the middle of the field throughout his round with flashes of gap pop. On the mound, it’s a simple delivery where he works exclusively from the stretch and uses a smaller leg lift. Minimal driveleg engagement and works straight down the mound. It’s a clean arm action that works with avg. armspeed to release. His fastball worked up to 71 and mixed in a larger slurvy mid 50s breaker.
