Josh Gunning is a 2028 3B/RHP/MIF with a 5-7 135 lb. frame from Haymarket, VA who attends Battlefield. Young, square shouldered frame with a lean build and room to grow and develop physically moving forward. Ran an 8.25 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, preps well with step prior to approach to baseball, creates angles and glove plays at the ball, compact release with some quickness to arm, accurate across diamond, will continue to refine moving forward. Also pitched, deliberate tempo to windup on mound, worked around the zone with a shorter arm action; fastball topped out at 75 mph and showed sinking life to it. Low effort delivery, velocity projects and showed a slider with some shape and depth to it in upper-60s. Right-handed hitter, begins with an open stance in the box, does a nice job of staying short and direct to the baseball. Swings with intent and repeats approach well at the plate, creates occasional backspin with flashes of loft to the middle and pull side parts of the field.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
