Jack Steiben is a 2029 SS/RHP, C, MIF, OF with a 5-0 100 lb. frame from Wichita, KS who attends Clearwater. Recorded an 8.85 second sixty yard dash time. Young, smaller frame with plenty of room to fill and grow. Primary shortstop, always has the feet moving. Fields with one hand on the move with a very quick release. Secondary catcher, starts with a one knee set up and has decent hands behind the plate. Also threw an inning on the mound. The right-handed pitcher works exclusively from the stretch. Drop and drive mechanics with a three- quarter arm slot. The fastball was mid-to-upper 50s. Switch-handed hitter, starts from a narrow stance with even hands, utilizes a load stride for timing. Swings uphill with some contact back up the middle. Line-drive approach with some smoothness. Developing bat speed. Showed a good feel for the zone in game action. Smaller frame with upside as he grows.
