Sam Willard is a 2028 C/RHP/3B with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Delran, NJ who attends Delran High School. Willard worked from a range of defensive positions over the course of his event, starting as a primary C displaying a side saddle set with a lower release point and developing footwork to ultimately post a 2.30 pop time. He consistently put throws around the bag with arm strength continuing to improve as the '28 prospect physically matures. From the IF, he displayed a controlled process with accurate throws across the diamond up to 69 mph. On the mound, Willard flashed some funk and deception to the delivery with looseness to the arm action that saw velocity up to 71 mph. He repeated the operation well and pounded the zone for strikes, recording outs efficiently. On the offensive end, the righty started from a slightly closed compact stance with a high hand set and simple load into impact. He swung with intent to generate contact to the middle pull side of the field with barrel control continuing to refine. Posted an exit velo of 75 mph. Ran a 8.40 sixty yard dash.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
