Darnell Sweeney is a 2009 SS/OF with a 6'1'', 165 lb. frame from Miramar, FL who attends American. Sweeney has an athletic slim projectable build with fluid actions in the infield. He has a quick easy arm across the diamond with good arm strength, 87 mph. He has a smooth swing from both side with good extension and gap power. He hits through the ball well with good leverage. His bat projects well as he adds strength as do all of his tools. He is very fluid in the infield. Darnell is also a good student.
