Drew Cross is a 2027 C/RHP, 3B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Mount Pleasant, TX who attends Mount Pleasant. Primary catcher with an athletic projectable build that will continue to fill out as he matures. Showed some twitch and controlled actions behind the plate with a matured polish coming out of the crouch. The ball comes out time with a quick release, gaining ground and making accurate throws with a 1.90 pop time in workouts followed up by multiple caught stealing in game actions. Does a nice job on the infield staying low through the ball with a good feel for the glove at third base moving well laterally with accurate throws to complete the plays. Can run the fastball up to 82 mph on the mound with some arm side sinking action to generate some swing and miss and set up the short horizontal slider in the low 70’s. Right-handed hitter starts with a wider base with a small weight shift into contact. Showed some strength when he gets extended out front from a quicker upper half rotation allowing him to impact the ball with leverage. Named to the 2023 South Top Prospects Games Top Prospect List.
