Norman Davis Jr is a 2024 C/RHP, 1B with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Kansas City, KS who attends Shawnee Mission North. Tall, lanky type frame with potential for added physical strength. Recorded 8.57 60-yd time. Primary position is catcher, has sound set-up with proper mechanics behind the plate. Has developing raw arm strength, throws have accuracy. Recorded 2.19 release throw to 2B with 63 mph velocity. Also participated with drills at first base, has overall sound fundamentals, needs to continue to refine footwork around the bag. Switch hitter with wide, slightly open stance from both sides of the plate. Has leg kick, occasionally effects timing, balance & rhythm. Line drive, contact type hitting approach, tries to hit to all fields. As RH pitcher, has sound delivery, throws form 3/4 arm slot with compact arm circle. FB has occasional arm side run, tries to locate FB to both sides of the plate, needs to continue to refine FB command. Breaking ball has more vertical type break, currently lacks consistent tight rotation. Good student.
