Steven Gonzales is a 2025 RHP/1B with a 5-11 210 lb. frame from Corona, CA who attends St Paul Catholic. Recorded a 8.25 second sixty yard dash time. Extra large frame and thick build. Primary right-handed pitcher with a semi-windup delivery. ¾ arm slot with average arm speed. Exposes ball on backside. Simple operation. Repeats delivery well. Works fast. Fastball sat 72-73 mph with good downhill plane. Attacked the zone with it. Threw plenty of strikes. Ground ball machine. Curveball sat 65-66 mph with downward break. Not extremely sharp but enough to get hitters off balance. Has some sewing and miss ability. Short look but got outs easily. Ability to throw strikes is intriguing. Secondary first baseman, fields out front with a clean funnel to the center, flips the glove late at times. Good turns towards second base, developing foot quickness and agility. Also worked out in the infield, showed a passive approach with limited range, had a clean round, projects as a first baseman moving forward. Right-handed hitter with a big foot turn load, gets his heel pointed at the pitcher. Rotational swing with long bat path, arms are fully extended for the entire process. Barrel lags through the zone at times, shows a pull side approach and average bat speed on a linear path. Crushed a towering flyball to left field during the games, can elevate and impact the ball when making contact out front. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
