Mason Balfanz is a 2023 RHP/1B, 3B, OF with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Elmhurst, IL who attends York Comm. Large frame with slender build; ran 60 yard dash in 8.30 seconds. Primary rigthhanded pitcher, upper body dominant delivery, 3/4 slot with looseness to arm stroke, fastball worked 73-77 mph with some life, comfortable throwing breaker and threw it a lot, good tilting slurvy shape. Hits from hunched over stance, deep locked out hand bar, off-balance through stride, linear plane with some barrel skills, whole-field approach. Worked out in the infield, deep late funnel with hands, limited bend, some feel for backhand mechanic, up to 73 mph on throws across. Very good student.
