John Mishu is a 2008 LHP/1B with a 6'4'', 210 lb. frame from Nashville, Tennessee, who attends Montgomery Bell Academy. Named to the Top Prospect Team at the event. Mishu has an extra large frame with present strength and projectability. On the mound he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with a short and compact arm action. He uses a higher leg kick, but he stays balanced throughout. Mishu throws a solid 1/7 curveball with depth at 67 mph, and he throws the pitch for strikes. He also gets cut action with sink on his 84 mph fastball, and he projects to throw harder in the future. He has a good feel for pitching, especially for a young LHP. At the plate he is a left handed hitter with strength in his swing. Mishu gets good leverage in his swing at the point of contact that helps produce raw power that should make him a middle of the order run-producer. He centers the ball well, and has good upside. He is a very good student as well.
