Zach McKay is a 2007 LHP/1B with a 6'1'', 210 lb. frame from Brampton ON, who attends Toronto District CHS. He has a strong, mature build. McKay has a deceptive delivery; he stays closed a long time and throws across his body on release. Hitters don't get much of a chance to see the ball until it's ready to come out of McKay's hand and their swings said as much. McKay's fastball was 76-78 mph but he he spots it well and got lots of bad swings and swings and misses. He took a bit off his fastball occasionally. McKay's breaking ball was a 64 mph curveball with pretty tight spin and a deep break. McKay kept hitters off balance, threw strikes and cruised through the line up pretty easily.
