2023 Sunshine Mid-South Showcase (Tues/Wed)
Ethan Carter is a 2025 2B/3B, SS with a 5-6 155 lb. frame from Olive Branch, MS who attends DeSoto Central. Medium build, prototypical of a high school middle infielder. Defensively, he shows really solid feel for the leather, especially the backhand mechanic. Fielded every ball cleanly and hit the first base glove 5 times. The arm action is a bit stiff but functional to get the ball across the diamond on time in rhtyhm. At the plate, he sets up in widespread and square stance. The hands work direct with very little definitive load, he got it on the barrel frequent through the middle. Could add some tempo to the swing and could benefit from added strength. On the mound, he works from a standard delivery with methodical arm action into a release from a high there-quarters slot. Nothing overly loud about the arsenal but threw a bunch strikes and let hitters get themselves out. 6.97 60-yard. Great student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
