2022 Southeast Prospect Showcase
Cooper Cantrell is a 2025 1B/RHP with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Cleveland, TN who attends Walker Valley. Cooper has some good athleticism on the infield around the bag at first. Very good footwork and feel for his surroundings. The arm strength isn't the best right now and has room for added strength and development, but the timing and accuracy of his throws make up for the lack of velocity for now. As a very good student in the classroom, his iQ on the field appears to be high as well. Cooper has a linear path with his bat into the zone and that causes a lack of bat speed to the baseball. He shows some ability to hit the ball gap to gap but is more of a contact type hitter.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
