Gerardo A. Cruz Ruiz is a 2022 SS/2B with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Luquillo, PR who attends Albergue Olímpico Baseball Academy. Medium frame with a very lean build. Ran a 7.56 second 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, good balance to his actions as he works well laterally to both sides, fields it cleanly and gets rid of the ball on time with a clean arm action that projects well with added strength. Right-handed hitter, sets up wide and in line using a simple stride as a trigger; has some length to the swing at present and gets onto the front side a bit early but has loose wrists to adjust the barrel and projects well with added strength. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
