Ethan Jackson is a 2023 C/3B with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Pleasanton, CA who attends Amador Valley. Features a lean, athletic build with plenty of strength present. Ran an 8.00 60-yard dash. Showcased a strong arm during infield workouts. Threw with intent across the diamond. Short arm action produced on-line carry at 84 mph. Glove actions were capable of making the routine play. Body type and arm profile well for third base. Range is playable at that spot. Also worked out at catcher. Gained ground well out of the slight side saddle stance. Replaces feet well during exchange. Arm strength plays from behind the plate. Produces strong, accurate throws consistently. Recorded a 2.01 second pop time. Right-handed hitter. Utilizes a narrow stance with a low hand setup. Shifts weight on the backside really well. Slight barrel hitch hinders consistency of timing. Showcased solid bat speed on a slight uppercut path. Creates plenty of loft within. Swings with the intent to do damage. Has the ability to use the entire field. Strength and bat speed produces solid power to the pullside. Also threw as right-handed pitcher. Utilized a semi-windup delivery with tall and fall mechanics. Gets down the mound well using athleticism. A slight crossfire landing creates some deception. Features a short arm action out of a 3/4 slot. Has quality arm speed. The fastball sat 79-82 mph with ride through the zone. Has the ability to throw it for strikes often. Offering gets on hitters quickly. Paired with a curveball at 65-69 mph with short, slurve-like action. Generates solid movement on the pitch when thrown with conviction. Strong arm with room to develop further mechanically. Good student. Named to the 2022 Northern California Workout Showcase Top Prospect List.
