Marcos Lopez is a 2027 3B/RHP/MIF with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Ozone Park, NY who attends Archbishop Molloy. Athletic, well-proportioned frame with some present athleticism and room to add strength. Recorded a 7.76 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary third baseman with softness to his hands, some lateral range to either side and arm strength across the diamond up to 80 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from an abbreviated windup with deliberate pace, a coiled leg lift into balance and good lower half movements down the slope. Repeats well, throws plenty of strikes and flashes cut/sink to his fastball. Worked steadily into the 79-81 mph range for the majority of his outing and topped out at 82 mph from a segmented three-quarters arm slot. Showed ability to command both sides of the plate effectively, mixed in downer breaking ball with bite for both strikes and showed ability to manipulate for swings-and-misses. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wider base with an exaggerated high hand set, high back elbow and minimal weight shift into launch. Leveraged stroke with gap-to-gap approach, consistent bat-to-ball skill set and some budding power potential. Displayed some feel for the barrel and will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments. Strong, athletic looking prospect with two-way potential and upside. Named to the 2023 13/14U Sunshine Northeast Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
