Carson Umphres is a 2025 OF/RHP, 1B with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Great Bend, KS who attends Great Bend. Tall athletic frame. Ran a 7.26 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder with an average first step, some fundamental footwork to the baseball on the ground fielding it out front, maintains some momentum working through the baseball to throw and shows a solid above average throwing arm. Right-handed hitter with raw tools. Exit velocity of 91 with a combination of strength and barrel speed in the swing. Real developing swing mechanics with developing feel for the barrel but with the athletic traits to put it all together as an impact bat at some point. On the mound threw exclusively from the stretch. Short stride and arm action delivery that gave him some deception. Upper 70's fastballs and a knuckleball that at times had a ton of movement to it in the mid 60's. Crafty pitchability with a unique pitch combo that has the potential to be really effective. Named to Kansas City Indoor Top Prospect List. Excellent Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
