2022 WWBA Summer Workout Showcase (July 19)
Bodie Burnette is a 2026 SS/2B, 3B, MIF with a 5-10 130 lb. frame from Stevenson, AL who attends North Jackson. Medium, square shouldered frame with a lean build and has room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.48 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, stays back on the ball, fields it out front with two hands and a wide base, shows accuracy across the diamond on throws, arm strength will continue to develop, takes short steps on the charge, glove works at the ball out front. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate and a slightly open stance. Limited weight shift through lower half at start of swing, keeps hands inside the ball with a contact oriented approach, comfort working the middle and pull side parts of the field. Can continue to incorporate additional extension out front, shows some present bat speed through the zone. Excellent student.
