2022 West Academic Showcase (Wed-Thurs)
Cam Staton is a 2023 LHP/OF with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Auburn, CA who attends Placer. Lean, athletic build with good size and strength. Ran a 7.25 in the 60-yard dash. Left-handed pitcher, high three-quarter slot and over-the-top release. EAsy and repeatable, fastball up to mid-80s with late life and some extension on it. Curveball showed late 1-7 shape and changeup has fading action as a third pitch. Solid arm that gets downhill. Outfielder, shows present arm strength with carry to the bag. Good intent in the charge and transfer. Left-handed hitter, even base and slightly open stance. Ability to get hands in launch and produce pull-side contact. Two-way potential on display. Excellent student.
