Yahir Vila is a 2024 3B/RHP/MIF with a 5-7 141 lb. frame from Carolina, PR who attends National Baseball Academy. Ran a 7.66 second sixty. Primary third baseman with a young tick build. Works to the spot with young footwork fielding the ball deep in a taller position with firm hands. Showed young arm strength across the diamond with a longer release. Worked with a short arm action on the mound filling up the zone with a simplified delivery that stays online and up to a three-quarters arm slot while living to the glove side. The fastball sat 68-71 mph allowing him to get ahead in counts, showed the breaking ball later in counts with younger spin traits and break. Switch hitter, starts with an open stance on the right side using a knee to knee trigger to get back to even. The bat fires flat through the zone with good timing allowing him to get to contact out front. From the left side the set up is similar showing the same linear bat path with young bat speed through the zone that will come with added strength. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
