Damon McCormick is a 2007 SS/P with a 5'11'', 155 lb. frame from Louisville KY, who attends St. Xavier. McCormick has a medium sized frame with a thin wirey build. Defensively, McCormick glides to the baseball and has easy actions. He has good hands and picks the ball up with low effort. He has very good body control and is a good all around defensive player and has arm strength. At the plate, McCormick starts with a wide base and uses a no load appraoch. He uses a high stride and gets his front foot down in time. McCormick swings on a line drive path and maintains good balance through his swing. He has a short swing path and has bat speed. McCormick has present gap to gap pop and is a contact type hitter. McCormick pitches from a 3/4 arm slot and uses a long arm action. He has a fast arm with looseness to it. He uses a slinger arm action and gets armside run and sink on his fastball. He throws a 12/6 curveball and his change-up has sink. He is an outstanding student.
