2022 National Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Landon Matthews is a 2026 3B/RHP with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Wildwood, MO who attends Lafayette. Lean and athletic medium build. Good lower half mechanics in his delivery, has a long and loose off-line arm action, did a good time keeping everything synced up and on time. Fastball sat at 76-77 mph with some running life. Curveball was an outstanding pitch, very good arm speed with deep 11/5 shape and tight spin, gets real bite on the pitch. Change up was very advanced for his age with full arm speed and a well tunneled release. Impressive three-pitch mix and the ability to throw strikes. 7.65 runner in the sixty. Plays infield when not on the mound, has soft hands fielding the ball, throws from different slots with some carry on his throws. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a deep coil into his load, rotates out of it on time, line drive swing with some lift out front, had feel for the barrel and squared up some line drives hard to the pull side. Will be interesting to watch develop on the mound. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
