2021 Puerto Rico Workout Showcase
Luis Martinez is a 2022 C/1B with a 5-9 168 lb. frame from Vega Baja, PR who attends ESCA. Medium height with room to add strength to the frame. Ran a 7.24 in the sixty yard dash. A primary catcher, stays really compact and has a quick exchange and short arm action to release with ease. Solid instincts and really quiet actions that will easily translate to games. Popped a 1.91 during drills with solid 77 mph arm strength. A right-handed hitter, starts even and open with the base and coils the back hip hard and explodes with it on foot strike. Gets on plane and really lets the barrel go to contact. The ball jumps off the bat with an intent based approach to the pull side. Good student.
