William Applegate is a 2025 C/RHP, 1B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Fruita, CO who attends Grand Junction. Large, broad shouldered frame with some present strength proportioned throughout and additional room to fill. Ran a 7.97 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, higher set behind the plate in drills, receives the ball out front, gets tall at release and can incorporate additional lower half into release, longer arm action, shows accuracy on throws down. Lower slot on throws across form first base, hands play out front at the ball well, shows feel for actions and repeats. Also pitched, knee to belt raise at start of delivery, smooth mechanics and works online towards the plate; long arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 77 mph early in outing, mixed a changeup with fading life at 71 mph and a curveball with developing shape up to 61 mph with 11-5 shape. Left-handed hitter, begins with an open and narrow stance, utilizes a simple stride moving into contact and shifts weight well. Long swing path but gets on plane and shows comfort working to pull side. Strength in hands, solid carry off the barrel to pull gap, torques hips well and projects for more pop with added physical strength. Very good student. named to 13u/14u Rocky Mountain Top Prospect List.
