Madden Pike is a 2028 C/RHP, MIF with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Puyallup, WA who attends Puyallup. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and some present strength proportioned, additional room to fill moving forward. Ran a 7.46 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, lower set up behind the plate, quickness to actions and gains ground towards the bag, advanced defensive actions in game with lots of athleticism and bounce to step, big arm strength to second base and showed ability to adjust slot as needed to make throw. Strong arm across the diamond, preps well behind the ball and creates angles on approach, moves well to either side and can drop slot when needed. Utilizes a lower slot on the mound, compact through the backside and ball jumps out of hand, up to 83 mph with occasional big running life. Shorter slider at 68 mph and will continue to refine, kills the spin on changeup at 70 mph. Switch-hitter, stays short to the ball from the right side, swings with intent, gets rotational at times but shows present bat speed, works on a linear path through the zone. More intent and torque in left-handed swing, turns on the ball well and utilizes a hover leg lift with a high hand set and back elbow, shows a handle for the barrel, nice present bat speed. Excellent student. Named to the 2023 13u Perfect Game Select Festival.
