Erick Loya is a 2024 3B/RHP with a 5-10 200 lb. frame from San Juan Capistrano, CA who attends JSerra Catholic. Large physical build with room to still strengthen as he continues to develop. Primary infielder, moves well for his build, fields out in front, arm strength across the diamond will continue to move nicely alongside his build. Profiles well as a corner guy. On the mound, has a longer arm action from a high three-quarters slot. Low leg lift, turns closed as he lifts his leg. Fastball up to 72 mph, mixes in a true 11-to-5 shaped breaking ball, along with a 66 mph straight change that he's developing a feel for. At the plate, uses an upright and open stance with a leg kick trigger. Still understanding his rhythm and timing with the pitcher. Flat barrel path through the zone. At his best when using the middle of the field.
