John Spivey is a 2024 OF/RHP, 3B, IF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Saint Louis, MO who attends St. Louis Priory. Recorded a 6.93 sixty yard dash time. Athletic build with strength in the frame. Primary outfielder, charges the ball with intent. Quicker first step with the speed to go get it in the air. good footwork with pace to the baseball, fields off front foot and carries momentum through with a whippy arm action and above average arm strength. Also threw an inning on the mound. Works exclusively from the stretch with a belt high leg lift and tall and fall mechanics with an in sync delivery driving off the back leg. Above average arm speed. Elevates the fastball up in the zone and challenges hitters. Mixed in an 11-5 shaped curveball with a consistent shape. Flashed a change-up that gives him a usable third pitch. Was able to change speeds and challenge hitters with quality strikes. Right-handed hitter, starts with an even base, utilizes a leg lift and stride forward. Controlled approach that uses all fields with some bat speed. Controls the barrel and stays on time to drive the baseball where he wants. Added a couple of hits in game including a loud barrel. Exciting player with a high ceiling and good all-around game. Excellent student. Named to the 2023 National Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
