Hunter Shipley is a 2023 RHP/3B, MIF, OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Burlington, IA who attends Notre Dame. Right-handed pitcher with a medium frame and slender athletic build. Recorded a 7.31 second 60-yard dash time. Lower hands start working from the first base side of the slab raising to chest with higher lift. Drop and drive mechanics using his lower-half strength to drive down the slope with a full arm swing to a 3/4 arm slot release. Fastball up to 78 mph (1853 RPM) and slider at 68 mph (1850 RPM). Flashed a changeup at 72 mph (1318 RPM) with a feel to control all there offerings. Has a feel to read swings and execute pitches as he matures and gains arm strength to increase his velocity moving forward. Right-handed hitter with a wide base and high back elbow slot. Quick toe-tap trigger stride working middle-to-opposite field gap with line-drive impact. Good student.
