2023 Mid-Atlantic Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Brayden Birchler is a 2025 RHP/OF with a 5-10 146 lb. frame from Mays Landing, NJ who attends Holy Spirit. Medium, slender frame with long levers and plenty of room to fill out. Recorded a 7.99 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with good rhythm and tempo to his movements down the slope. Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 70s for the majority of his outing and topped out at 75 mph from an over-the-top arm slot. Mixed in a more traditional shaped 12-6 curveball with gradual depth to it and showed the ability to land it frequently. Strike thrower that generates tons of weak contact, will continue to improve with additional velocity and refinement. Secondary infielder with a developing defensive skill set. Showcased good lateral range to either side, while bending at the waist to field. Displayed ability to make accurate throws across the diamond and produced arm strength up to 75 mph across the diamond during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, slightly open stance with a flat, tight hand set and low back elbow. Incorporates a toe-tap trigger and rotational lower half mechanics to generate some torque. Contact oriented stroke with downhill swing path and developing bat-to-ball skills. Will continue to improve with proper adjustments and additional strength. Excellent Student.
