Caleb McBurnie is a 2024 C/2B, OF with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Bourbonnais, IL who attends Bradley-Bourbonnais C. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Primary catcher with a balance stance and soft hands while receiving the baseball. Gains some ground while working out of crouch with sound footwork. Clean glove circle at exchange and released from a compact arm slot. Throws created some on line carry to the bag topping at 68 mph, best workout pop time of 2.20. Right handed hitter with a crouched, open stance and simple leg lift trigger. Compact hand path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Showed good feel for the barrel while employing a high contact, mid field approach. Consistently barreled the baseball throughout the round. Good student as well.
