David Abilez is a 2022 LHP/OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Dixon, CA who attends Dixon Community Day. Ran a 7.97 section sixty. Primary left-handed pitcher with a slender build showing length to continue to fill out moving forward. Worked only from the stretch with a good action down the mound staying tall on the back side and throwing against a stiff front side. The fastball topped out at 76 mph from a three-quarters arm slot with a short clean arm action generating some arm side run and landing for strikes often. Changeup fades in the low to mid 60's with maintained arm speed, while the shows tow plane shape in the low 60's to round out a three pitch mix. Showed under control actions in the outfield letting the ball travel and fielding it on the side and making accurate throws with developing arm strength. Left-handed hitter, starts with an even base and upright stance, barrel path works direct to the inside part of the ball creating line drive contact to all parts of the field with developing bat speed. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
