Joaquin Covarrubias is a 2027 OF/LHP/1B with a lean 5-7 135 lb. frame from Upland, CA who attends Upland. Started the event off clocking a 7.48 60-yard dash. A primary outfielder that pitches as well. Defensively, his athleticism plays where he demonstrated the ability to get to the ball quickly and work through it with confidence. Showed a clean transfer, and quick release to strong accurate throws to the bases from the outfield. Offensively, Covarrubias starts in slightly open, balanced stance. Uses a traditional hand load mechanism before firing to contact. Has excellent bat speed and demonstrated he could use the whole field. On the mound, he features a 3-pitch mix (FB,CB, CH) out of a 3/4 slot. Shows fundamentally sound mechanics with an athletic repeatable delivery. Has a quick, clean arm path. Was able to locate a well and keep the ball down in the zone inducing ground balls. Pitched 2 innings allowing 1 hit and striking out 3. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
