Luke Malzewski is a 2023 2B/OF with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from Seattle, WA who attends Seattle Prep. He has a medium frame with a high waist. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.28 seconds. Primary second baseman that showed good movements to both sides of his body. He has smooth hands and a good feel for the glove. He throws with a long arm action and showed good arm strength across the infield. He also showed nice accuracy with his throws and was able to create carry through the base. Offensively, he starts in an open and upright stance with high hands and a high back elbow. He uses a simple stride for timing. He does a nice job of shifting his weight through his swing and will be able to generate more power by engaging his hips more. He has a downhill swing path, creating nice carry to his line drives when he is on time. He was able to find his best success when hitting line drives the other way. Very good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
