Andres Castro is a 2024 RHP/3B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Tucson, AZ who attends Pusch Ridge Christian Academy. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.65 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, simple leg lift at top of delivery, generates deception by hiding the ball through backside, tight release from an over-the-top slot. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, shows best running life when working out of stretch, shows ability to miss bats at the top of the zone, occasionally cuts the ball when working to glove side. Curveball has depth to it up to 71 mph from a similar release point. Shows quick feet and athleticism on pick off move to first base. Smooth and fluid actions in the infield, fields the balls out front and hands work nicely, quick release on throws from a compact arm action, tools play at third base. Right-handed hitter, begins with a balanced stance and a high hand set and back elbow a the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box. Handsy swing with a contact oriented approach, shows quickness to them and works inside of the ball with hands. Works on a linear plane with an all fields approach, repeats swing well. Excellent student.
