Kurtis Schuyler is a 2024 C/RHP with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Wetumpka, AL who attends Wetumpka. He ran a 7.54 second sixty. A primary catcher with a larger build. Behind the plate he does receives the ball well out front before gaining ground into the throws with a longer arm action showing younger arm strength as he recorded a 2.06 second pop time. On the mound he starts with a side step into a leg lift well above the belt with a straight leg kick the foot upward the head as he stays tall on the back side before driving down the mound. The arm works on a shorter track through the back up to a three-quarters arm slot. The fastball sat 76-80 mph as he hurries through the delivery with some effort out front on the release. He mixed in a curveball with 11-5 shape in the upper 60's that shows the potential for sharper break with consistent hand speed matching that of the fastball. Right-handed hitter, uses a toe tap trigger with the weigh shifting to the back side as he looks to leverage the ball to the pull side with intent to the swing path recording a 93 mph exit velocity.
