Colin Stout is a 2021 3B/RHP, 1B, OF with a 6-1 140 lb. frame from Lancaster, CA who attends Quartz Hill. Large, athletic frame with a lean and projectable build, square shoulders with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.23 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, fields the ball out front with a wide base, makes the plays, gets too quick with release at times and inconsistent with slot, shows ability to drop slot with comfort, sound on the charge. Graded out better from the outfield in this look, makes online throws and arm works well, shorter footwork and will continue to refine, shows carry and accuracy on throws out of hand. Also pitched, similar compact arm action through the backside, some drop and drive to lower half coming down the mound. Fastball topped out at 79 mph, mostly true in life with occasional run to arm side, throws strikes and pitched to contact; mixed a curveball up to 59 mph, gets around it at release occasionally. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate with a tall stance in the box. Utilizes a long stride moving into contact, loads hands back at start, best when working on a linear plane, inconsistent path through the zone and will get downward at times. Creates line drive contact with some carry when squared. Very good student.
